Digi-Battle Fakes and Oddities – ProDIGIous Collecting

This is a very strange version of the Dp-C3 card. It is definitely different from the normal one, especially the back of the card. I got it out of a sealed digivice. It very well could be fake, but then someone went through a lot of trouble to manufacture a working digivice to go with it. With Digimon cards you never know. I have never seen another copy like this ever. If anyone knows more about this, please let me know.

Two Shellmon cards. But the 1st Edition stamp is on different sides. With Digimon 1st Edition cards, the stamp would be printed on different sides of the picture for different digimon. It does not usually switch sides for the same digimon card. Except here.

This one will be hard to see. I did the highest resolution I could to try and help. The card on the left is double printed. The text is overlayed over itself. If you look closely, the black text for the card on the left will look blurrier than the card on the right. That’s not image quality. That’s how the card was printed.

Here’s a better look at a double stamp card. Read the different attacks and you’ll see the lettering imprinted lightly just above.

Some small differences were the result of U.S. vs. Europe print runs. These are the Europe versions. Frigimon, Shellmon, Drimogemon, and Monochromon are all missing dashes in there digivolve requirement boxes. Monchromon also has a fuzzier background than it’s U.S. counterpart. In the U.S. the Numemon was printed with a different font, which is corrected in the European version pictured here. MetalMamemon in the European print run are missing an “e” in “ultimate level” found at the top of the card.

They are also some cards where the foil has shifted down (so that a non-foil silhouette appears below the digimon). Notice the non foil outline of Metalgreymon entering into the “EFFECT” box. This is my personal favorite type of error card.
